The Theatre Café Festival 2008 featured 2 new productions, 5 new European plays presented in staged rehearsed readings in the unique Theatre Café setting, the International Symposium and the Young Angels Theatremakers Award (2008) featuring Swedish hit play Invasion!
Events took place at both the Unicorn Theatre and Southwark Playhouse.

Young Angels Theatremakers Award 2008:

Invasion!
by Jonas Hassen Khemiri 
A £20,000 award to develop and produce the UK premiere of this Swedish hit play in association with The Junction and Soho Theatre. Supported by the Embassy of Sweden.

Theatre Cafe Festival Young Ambassadors:
A group of 9 students from the BRIT School of Performing Arts attended all readings and performances prior to the International Symposium and passed on their feedback to Symposium navigator Chris Campbell.
They are currently putting together their Theatre Cafe Festival experiences on film and a short documentary will be available from early 2009.
