He is wicked Abulkasem. She is mad Abulkasem. Don't play the Abulkasem.
In a satirical comedy about the lives and identities of young Middle Easterners in Europe, Invasion! assaults our deepest prejudices about identity, race and language, and asks the question, 'Who or what is the mythical Abulkasem?'
Irreverent, funny and often deeply moving, Invasion! calls into question the very nature of theatre. A sell-out in Stockholm for two years, it now comes to London in a new production directed by Lucy Kerbel.
"Illuminating theatre...innovative in its merciless and humours attacks on the audience’s expectations as well as theatrical forms."
Borås Tidning
Jonas Hassen Khemiri received the Per Olov Enquist Prize in 2006 and Invasion!, was selected for the Swedish Teaterbiennalen 2007.
