A devised dance theatre piece about teenage asylum seekers in Glasgow based on research with both young asylum seekers and residents. Written by John Retallack with a choreography by Andy Howitt (YDance), Club Asylum is a thrilling fusion of dance, theatre and music.

I speak ninety-nine languages that nobody wants to learn
I practice all kind of religion that get me in all kinds of trouble
I miss home like hell and hell is where my home is
I want to fit the landscape but I stand out a mile
I want to I want to I want to I want to be like you

“Club Asylum is one of the most important theatrical shows created in  Scotland in the past year [...] its strength lies in Retallack’s thoughtful, well-muscled script.”
The Scotsman

“Retallack and his excellent youth-oriented Company of Angels have hit the mark” Scotland on Sunday

“Retallack's well researched script gives a powerfully clear voice
to [asylum seekers'] frustrations, just as it reflects the real and complex experiences of young asylum seekers themselves. Combining theatre with choreography, the production finds a
near perfect language for its subject.”
Scotland on Sunday
