Company of Angels are proud to announce this new award created in association with Sadler’s Wells and The Place: London Contemporary Dance School.
It aims to support the exploration of new dance and movement- led work for young audiences aged 8 to 11.

This new award provides experienced, professional choreographers with the chance to work alongside a dramaturg, designer, lighting designer and composer to create a high quality work for young audiences supported by established producers.

Closing date for applications: 1 March 2010                Interviews: 16 & 17 March 2010

The CfC Award builds on Company of Angels’ previous work teaming emerging writers and directors to create new plays for young audiences performed by graduating students form Drama Centre, London.
After seeing this programme in action Sadler’s Wells Producer, Emma Gladstone, approached Company of Angels Chief Executive, Teresa Ariosto, about the possibilities of developing a similar scheme for dance.  The role of the dramaturge is an exciting and reasonably new one for dance in the UK, and both parties felt the involvement of a dramaturg to work with would be a key attraction for any creator interested in making eloquent work.

London Contemporary Dance School has recently developed further links with Sadler’s Wells and, as a result, seemed the natural partner to approach to start to realise this ground breaking project.
