Company of Angels fosters and produces new and experimental theatre for young audiences both by producing shows and by initiating innovative projects that directly involve young people.

Artistic policy:

1)

2)

3)

4)

5)

6)

7)

8)

To broaden the definition of theatre for young people through experimental projects and new productions of high artistic standard.

To engage young audiences with theatre of great stylistic variety that addresses key aspects of social change.

To heighten the artistic profile of experimental work for young people through the initiation of schemes intended to inspire and facilitate a new generation of theatremakers to create work in this field.

To explore the cultural diversity of Britain through finding fresh and original responses to the challenges posed by different cultures living together.

To heighten awareness of European work for young people and to work closely with other sympathetic companies in mainland Europe.

To perform frequently in daylight spaces where theatre is not normally seen and to audiences who don’t often see theatre.

To document the company's experiments in access and communication with young people, actively pursuing the publication of essays, documentaries, interviews and other informative material in as wide a variety of media as possible.

To develop and diversify both repertoire and audiences through our own willingness to change

Company of Angels
generates work in three different ways:

It proposes its own projects and produces each one in collaboration with another company or theatre.

It approaches outstanding individual artists and helps them to develop an original project for young people through its own producing and fundraising.

It proposes original creative schemes or new models of work to Arts Agencies and seeks development funding to pilot them.
